ScanSource Security Distribution Inc., a sales unit of specialty technology products distributor ScanSource Inc., has created the IP Center, a comprehensive resource developed for security dealers who are interested in learning more about IP-based physical security solutions. The IP Center consists of a Web site, as well as workshops held across the country.
Through the IP Center Web site, security dealers can learn about the basics of networking, as well as network-based video and access control technologies. IT integrators and telecom and POS resellers, who are familiar with the fundamentals of IP technology, can learn about the opportunities available in the physical security marketplace, as well as the basics of physical security products, such as cameras, lenses, access control and more. Dealers will also have the opportunity to attend a two-day IP Center Workshop, which will be held in cities across the United States. The workshop will educate dealers on the basics of networking, provide an introduction to network video and deliver hands-on demonstrations of the latest network-based physical security solutions.
“As physical security products continue to become network-based, we believe it is critical that dealers and resellers understand the benefits of both networking and physical security technologies, as well as the ample opportunity available to them in the marketplace,” says Tony Sorrentino, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Security Distribution. “The IP Center is a centralized source where dealers can learn about network-based technologies according to their individual needs and apply that knowledge to help grow their business.”
The IP Center Workshops will be held in the following cities:
- June 12, 13 – Santa Clara, Calif.
- August 7, 8 – Chicago
- October 9, 10 – Dallas
- November 13, 14 – Atlanta
The IP Center Web site, www.scansourcesecurity.com/ipcenter, will launch May 15.
