5 New Bosch Training Courses Cover Access Control, IP Solutions
FAIRPORT, N.Y. — Bosch Security Systems has added five courses to its roster of training options available to technical and sales personnel.
Included in the new offerings are three Bosch Access Easy Controller classes, reflecting a training strategy for the browser-based access control system. Additional courses include IP alarm communications and IP video solutions classes that extend 0.2 CEU credits to participants as part of their accreditation through the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association's (NBFAA) National Training School.
"Overall, the addition of these classes demonstrates our commitment to educating the industry on the latest technologies available today, such as IP solutions," says Leon Chlimper, vice president, systems. "By adding further training for our Access Easy Controller offering, we are helping our current customers move to a simple, but powerful, browser-based solution, while also reaching out to new organizations that want to grow their businesses in this area."
The first step in the Access Easy Controller training process is a one-hour Webinar that provides participants with an overview of the system, including features and benefits. This level of training is appropriate for anyone in the Bosch Certified Security Dealer program and for organizations, such as electrical contractors and low-voltage installers, interested in entering the access control field.
Next, a self-paced, online course provides details on the hardware and the initial controller setup. It demonstrates how to use the system and covers card assignment and card admin setup. The e-learning approach makes training available to customers whenever it is convenient for them. It is accessible from any computer with Internet access.
As a final step in the training process, an instructor-led course provides a review of installation and configuration and includes advanced programming and troubleshooting topics. Participants that complete this course receive certification and 2.1 CEU credits from the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA) National Training School (NTS).
In the IP solutions class, sales personnel looking for training on IP network video can learn about recording at the edge and compression and image quality. The course also covers analog-to-IP migration strategies and the iSCSI storage array used in Bosch's second generation of Video over IP technology for CCTV.
The IP alarm communications class describes communications trends, the benefits of IP alarm transmission – broadband speed and increased management capabilities – and the advantages of the Bosch C900V2 Dialer Capture Module with Web-based programming and intelligent phone backup capabilities.
