Cisco Secures 44th Presidential Inauguration

The 44th presidential inauguration of Barack Obama was held on Jan. 20, 2009 with an estimated 1.8 million people descending upon Washington, D.C., an attendance record for any event in the U.S. capitol.

Cisco was instrumental in securing the 44th presidential inauguration of Barack Obama. Nearly 299 video-traffic and pedestrian-monitoring cameras deployed throughout the parade area, some which were controlled by the Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency while others were Department of Transportation's headquarters. Working in conjunction with Cisco engineers, separate video-traffic and pedestrian-monitoring networks were integrated in just a few weeks time using Cisco's Video Surveillance Manager (VSM) over the existing DCNet fiber-optic IP network.
