FLIR Systems F-Series Thermal Camera

FLIR Systems Inc. of Portland, Ore. has released affordable entries into its F- and PT-Series IP thermal security cameras with models starting at $3,495. They feature 160×120-pixel resolution and have three available lenses, ranging from the wide-angle, 24-degree lens to the narrow, 12-degree lens for maximum imaging and integration flexibility.

Available as either a fixed-site (thermal only) configuration, or as pan/tilt multi-sensor systems with an integrated daylight camera, this array of affordable IP thermal cameras complements FLIR's existing line of higher resolution F- and PT-Series cameras.

The thermal cameras provide "easy integration over open IP network standards," and dual channels of streaming digital video in H.264, MPEG-4, or MJPEG formats, allowing users to mix and match formats to meet various viewing and recording requirements, according to FLIR.

Their imaging-cartridge design allows all F- and PT-Series thermal security cameras to be easily upgraded in the field to 320×240- or 640×480-resolution cameras.

All F- and PT-Series thermal security cameras come with FLIR Sensor Manager, a software package that provides network control and video display, as well as advanced features such as geo-referenced threat mapping, pan/tilt slew-to-cue, and video analytics in a perimeter security system.
