MADISON, Ala. -- AvaLAN Wireless announces it has become the first manufacturer of long range industrial wireless radio/Ethernet technology in the United States to successfully complete the Made in USA Certified proprietary audit process.
"In an industry that has been largely outsourced, AvaLAN's commitment to R&D [research and development] and manufacturing in the U.S. is a breath of much needed fresh air," says Made in USA Certified's Co-Founder and President Julie Reiser. "AvaLAN is proof that high technology R&D and manufacturing goes hand in hand and is crucial for a strong national economic strategy for jobs and a globally competitive America."
Made in USA Certified Inc. operates under its own authority as an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan organization. The organization is financially funded by the fees it charges manufacturers of the products submitted for certification.
To establish qualification for the Made in USA Certified Seal or Product of USA Certified Seal, products must be certified as having all or virtually all of their core components manufactured or grown in the U.S., as well as 100 percent of product assembly conducted in the U.S.
Founded in 2004, AvaLAN's has shipped more than 30,000 radios to networking, surveillance, digital signage, robotics, industrial automation, access control and smart grid markets. Specializing in the unlicensed 900MHz, 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz radio spectrum, the company offers a number of Ethernet bridge products and point-to-multi-point wireless networking products.
