Alarm Relay Explains Why Alarm Monitoring Is Worth It

The home security monitoring firm responds to a blog that claims alarm monitoring services are not beneficial to homeowners.

SAN DIEGO – Alarm Relay, a security alarm monitoring firm, has written an article refuting the claims made by a blogger who says that monitored home security isn’t worth the money.

Originally posted on Lenpenzo.com, the blog, titled, “14 Reasons Why Monitored Home Security Systems Are for Suckers,” attempts to deter homeowners from purchasing alarm systems, stating that home security solutions can be too expensive to install and maintain and irritating to neighbors and local law enforcement.

The blog also claims that central stations experience a false alarm rate of about 80% and that monitoring centers are overwhelmed, and thus cannot call homeowners back in a timely manner to confirm alarms. (To read more statements from Lenpenzo.com, click here.)

To dispute these assertions, Alarm Relay released its own blog titled, “14 Reasons Monitored Home Security Is Worth It,” to teach consumers trustworthy, affordable monitoring companies do exist.

In its posting, the firm notes that while false alarm can be costly and annoying to neighbors and law enforcement, monitored service actually cuts down on false alarms by coaching homeowners on how to use their system properly and contacting the homeowner before sending in the authorities when an alarm is triggered.

Another argument the monitoring company refutes is that security systems are easy to disable. Rather, the blog explains that new advances in Internet and cellular technology actually boost security. Additionally, by installing a backup communicator on the existing system, the alarm monitoring company can be notified through an internet or cellular connection.

Operating since 1972, Alarm Relay is a UL Listed central station and currently holds an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau.
