ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Honorable John Winston Howard, Australia’s 25th prime minister, will serve as the keynote speaker at the ASIS 2013. The 59th annual conference will be held Sept. 24-27 at the McCormick Place in Chicago.
During his 16-year tenure, Howard, Australia’s second longest serving prime minister, is credited with turning around the federal government budget from heavy deficit to free of net debt when he left office. He also initiated major reforms in taxation, labor laws, and social policy. While in office, Howard approved the Australian military to join coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Howard is scheduled to speak on Sept. 26. The following day, NFL legend Mike Ditka will address attendees during the closing luncheon. During his speech, Ditka will highlight key characteristics people need to achieve their personal and professional goals.
More than 200 educational sessions will be presented at ASIS 2013, including expanded IT security offerings in collaboration with (ISC)². The 230,000-square-foot exhibition area will feature the latest security technology from more than 700 companies.
