NAPERVILLE, Ill.— Tony Byerly, president of Stanley CSS North America and United Kingdom, is leaving the company, the firm announced today. He will be replaced by Marty Schurr, who currently serves as president of Stanley Hydraulic Tools.
The company declined to provide further details about Byerly’s departure.
“I would like to thank Tony Byerly, who has truly been a consummate industry professional. Tony has been instrumental in building CSS into what it is today, a North American leader in commercial security systems integration and monitoring,” Brett Bontrager, senior vice president & group executive, Stanley Security Solutions, said in a prepared statement.
Schurr has served at Stanley for more than 16 years, including as a business development and integration leader at Emhart, a provider of fastening technologies.
“I’ve personally seen what Marty can do at two different business units within Stanley Black & Decker, and we’re excited that he can begin making contributions to the growth of CSS immediately,” Bontrager said.
Byerly was retained by Stanley after it acquired HSM Electronic Protection Services in late 2006. Byerly served as senior vice president of sales, marketing and national accounts, and was subsequently promoted to COO in January 2008.
In 2009, Stanley CSS combined its United States and Canadian divisions to form a unified North American operation and appointed Byerly as its president.
Byerly has served in the electronic security industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining HSM, his executive career included positions with companies such as Ameritech, SBC Global Communications, Cambridge Protection Industries and ADT Security Services.
