Campus Safety Magazine Announces 2016 East and West Conference Programs

Two days of in-depth training, peer-to-peer learning and networking for law enforcement and academic administrators responsible for the safety and security of K-12 and higher education campuses.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Campus Safety magazine, a sister publication of Security Sales & Integration, is pleased to announce that it will host both East and West Campus Safety Conferences this summer. Campus Safety Conference East will be held July 25-26 at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Md., and Campus Safety Conference West will be held Aug. 9-10 at the Hilton in Long Beach, Calif.

Campus Safety Conferences are the premier security and safety events that bring together law enforcement agencies and administrators from across the country as peers. The programs offer one-of- a-kind training and networking opportunities where attendees will learn from industry experts, share ideas, hear experiences and build relationships with fellow administrators and security professionals. Attendees will also have the opportunity to obtain information on the latest campus safety and security products and services.

These 2-day conferences will be presented in partnership with Higher Education Sponsors Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and University of Southern California (USC).

“USC’s Department of Public Safety has been a proud partner with Campus Safety magazine’s conferences for the past three years. These informative and engaging training conferences provide campus safety professionals with invaluable opportunities to learn, network, share ideas and explore the current risks and incidents occurring on our academic campuses. The Campus Safety Conference is an event that we look forward to each year” states Chief John Thomas.

USC Department of Public Safety Chief of Police John Thomas and NOVA Chief Daniel Dusseau will both participate in a Chief’s Panel along with Chief John Venuti of Virginia Commonwealth University and Chief Stephen Lopez of New Mexico State University. The panel will address concerns such as perception of safety, community outreach, Clery audits, administrator buy-in and militarization of police.

“NOVA police is proud to be a sponsor of Campus Safety magazine’s conference. This meeting brings together leaders in the field who address cutting edge issues, along with the most innovative technologies to keep our campuses safe,” states Chief Daniel Dusseau.
