Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) has released results from its first Security Trends survey, which aims to identify and measure the monitoring/installation industry’s revenues, profits and attrition rates on a monthly basis. For the CSAA members who took the inaugural survey in May, 66 percent reported they were currently on track (48 percent) or better (18 percent) to meet their revenue objectives for 2010. Improved demand in the residential space is certainly refreshing news, same for government sector performance. But negative growth in the education, commercial and health-care markets may, in part, account for the 35 percent of respondents who reported red ink to date.
