NORTH CANTON, Ohio — A month after leaving his position as president and COO of Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (CSS), Tony Byerly will now serve as executive vice president of electronic security for Diebold Inc., the company announced on Monday.
In his new role, Byerly will be responsible for leading Diebold’s electronic security business, as well as executing growth strategies across all markets
“Electronic security has an attractive growth profile,” Diebold President and CEO Thomas Swidarski says. “We are dedicated to making necessary investments to build our competency in North America and expand the model globally. I am confident that Tony’s experience as a security industry leader will prove valuable and enable us to further strengthen, enhance and expand our security business.”
With more than 20 years in the industry, Byerly joined the Stanley CSS team after it acquired HSM Electronic Protection Services in late 2006. While there, Byerly served as senior vice president of sales, marketing and national accounts. In January 2008, he was promoted as the company’s COO. A year later, Byerly was appointed president after Stanley CSS combined its United States and Canadian divisions to form a unified North American operation.
Byerly also gained leadership experience working for companies, such as ADT/Tyco Int’l, Ameritech, SBC Global Communications, SecurityLink and Cambridge Protection Industries.
