Diebold Rallies Sales Troops at First Electronic Security Summit

Diebold hosted its first-ever Electronic Security Sales Summit here, just a stone’s throw from the global provider’s North Canton headquarters, March 12-15.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Diebold hosted its first-ever Electronic Security Sales Summit here, just a stone’s throw from the global provider’s North Canton headquarters, March 12-15.

Executive, sales and support associates from across the United States gathered for presentations, breakout sessions, exercises and activities, networking, and a small exhibit area featuring key Diebold suppliers such as Honeywell, Verint and Lenel. The event, which was presided over by recently named Executive Vice President of Electronic Security Tony Byerly, was indicative of Diebold’s renewed focus on expanding its installing and monitoring electronic security systems business.

SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine was the invited featured speaker at the Summit’s banquet March 14. Following his well-received presentation, “Reading the Signs for More Security Sales,” Goldfine was unexpectedly honored by Byerly and Diebold with a special Industry Recognition Award for “contributions to the electronic security industry and for his years of service leading one of the industry’s leading publications.”

“I was already pleased to be asked to participate in Diebold’s Summit, and being surprised with the award was icing on the cake,” says Goldfine, who joined SSI in 1998. “Diebold is a class act organization with the resources, expertise and attitude to do big things in the electronic security and integration industry.”

Founded more than 150 years ago as a safe and lock provider, publicly traded Diebold today boasts 60% worldwide ATM market share. The $3 billion firm, which employs approximately 17,000 people with representation in more than 90 countries, is leveraging the impressive infrastructure already in place to establish itself as a security systems integrator with unparalleled efficiencies. In addition to financial institutions, Diebold’s primary customers include government agencies, commercial enterprises and retail outlets.

The company is confident the proven track record of enthusiasm, leadership and success Byerly demonstrated while with top national providers like ADT, HSM Electronic Protection Services and Stanley Convergent Security Solutions will help it substantially grow the electronic security side of Diebold’s business. Given the talent and drive evident at the Summit, it would be unwise to bet against them.

Diebold is a finalist for the Integrated Installation of the Year, to be presented during the SAMMY Awards April 9 in Las Vegas.
