DMP Breaks Ground on Project to Expand Headquarters
The 72,000-square-foot expansion of DMP’s current facility will create space necessary for growth of several organizational functions.
On June 4, DMP broke ground on a facility expansion project at its headquarters in Springfield, Mo.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) recently broke ground for the latest expansion of its headquarters, located here. The $7 million project will provide growth space for many of the company’s functions, as well as the addition of approximately 65 new jobs over the next two years, according to a press release.

The new space will enable DMP to meet the increasing demand for its portfolio of intrusion, fire, access control, and network and cellular communication products. Project completion is planned for summer 2016.
“In the company’s 40 years, we have had to move or expand our facility about every four years to create the space needed to keep up with growth,” says DMP President and CEO Rick Britton. “This kind of sustained growth is possible only because of the innovative spirit and dedication of DMP employees to provide the members of the DMP-authorized dealer network with industry-leading security technology. Everyone at DMP is excited about the prospects of further growth and being able to serve even more customers, both here in the U.S. and the other countries DMP is now entering.”
The company moved to various, existing facilities in its early days and in 1987 it moved to the first building built exclusively for DMP in Springfield. The company moved to its current location in 2000, aptly located at the corner of Partnership Boulevard and Progress Place. Warehouse space at the current location has more than tripled since then. The most recent expansion in 2011 added 35,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space.
The company’s current facility is about 120,000 square feet. DMP broke ground on the new expansion on June 4, which will include:
• 36,000 square feet for additional warehousing and manufacturing
• 28,000 square feet for engineering, training development and marketing
• 8,000 square feet for technical support and customer service
DMP is a privately held, independent manufacturer of intrusion, fire/life-safety, access control, network and cellular communication products that are designed, engineered and manufactured in Springfield.
