Door-to-Door Alarm Sales Rep Dupes 9-Month Pregnant Woman
A Safe Home Security salesperson allegedly tricked a nine-month pregnant ADT customer into signing a five-year contract with his alarm firm.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A nine-month pregnant woman claims that a Safe Home Security sales representative used deceptive sales practices to get her to sign a five-year contract with his alarm firm.
Emily Sigmon immediately hired ADT to install a security system when her family moved into their home five years ago, WSOCtv.com reports.
Recently, Sigmon was approached by a man who told her he worked for ADT and wanted to do a check-up on her service. The salesperson knew her name, address and phone number, Sigmon says.

It was only after Sigmon signed a new five-year contract that she realized that the sales representative was not an ADT employee. Rather, he works for another firm called Safe Home Security.
Sigmon claims that Safe Home employees tore out ADT’s system, and she doesn’t think they replaced it with their own.
She is currently paying both ADT and Safe Home Security, and is unsure if she even has home security service.
The company recently modified its reward program to stop companies from training their employees to scam ADT customers.
