Doyle Security Systems Acquires Albany Protective Services

The acquisition will add more than 1,100 accounts to Doyle’s Upstate New York footprint.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Doyle Security Systems, a regional provider of residential and commercial security, fire and medical monitoring systems, has acquired the accounts of Albany Protective Services (APS). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1935, Albany, N.Y.-based APS has more than 1,100 accounts (70% commercial, 30% residential) that will now be monitored and serviced by Doyle Security.

Doyle Security will retain four employees from APS. Mark Foster, the majority owner and president, will join Doyle’s Albany office in a management position. Two alarm technicians will be brought onboard, along with part owner Ross Foster, who will be joining in a sales role.

“We are very excited to welcome these Albany Protective customers to the Doyle Security Family,” says Doyle Security President and CEO John G. Doyle Jr. “Both of our companies have been family owned and operated for several generations and we are proud to carry on the APS tradition of great local service. This merger will also bring affordable new capabilities for the APS customers, including access to Doyle Total Connect automation and award-winning monitoring service.”

Doyle Security first entered the Albany market in 2012 with the simultaneous mergers of JMS Alarms and LPE Security & Fire Alarm Systems.
