ESX 2016 Aims to Explore & Prepare for Evolving Industry Landscape

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Electronic Security Association (ESA) and Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) will a host a bevy of seminars, networking activities and an exhibit floor with nearly 200 participating vendors during the Electronic Security Expo (ESX), June 8-10 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Now in its ninth year, the event will offer dozens of educational sessions as part of a four-track program, led by executives from leading installing security contractors and manufacturers, plus a host of other subject matter experts. The curriculum emphasizes best practices and ideas intended to help dealers, integrators and central stations improve their business operations. The track titles are: Run Your Company, Grow Your Business, Maximize Your Central Station, and Rethink the Future.

ESX is home to many of the associations’ respective industry awards programs, national committee meetings, as well as other joint endeavors. Among assorted speaking engagements will be keynote addresses by Nicholas Webb, senior partner, Lasen Innovation, and author of “Innovator and Strategist”; and Dr. Alan Beaulieu, president of ITR Economics, and a respected economist.

Among the event’s highlights, the Public Safety Luncheon (June 9, noon-1:30 p.m.) will feature a presentation by FBI Section Chief Philip Celestini, who is the senior executive FBI representative to the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command. Celestini will address numerous topics on cybersecurity across a range of security threats.

Several individuals and companies will be honored during the Security Sales & Integration-sponsored luncheon. Among them: the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award, presented jointly by SSI and SIAC, recognizes an installing security contractor that best demonstrates a proactive and cooperative effort to reduce unnecessary alarm dispatches; SIAC’s William N. Moody Award to honor a volunteer who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to stem false dispatches; the CSAA Public Sector Award; and ESA will announce the winners of its Youth Scholarship Program.

Among other goings-on, SSI Senior Editor Rodney Bosch will moderate a panel titled “DIY: Embrace or Disgrace?” Panelists will deliberate the pros and cons of integrating DIY and professionally installed systems under one roof, the operational impact of DIY monitoring, go-to-market sales model best practices, and more.

And the ESX Club Crawl returns June 9 for nighttime networking and revelry. Among the stops is the ranch-themed Reata Restaurant, an upscale four-story location with a rooftop patio that offers spectacular views of greater Fort Worth.
