MONTREAL Feeling Software, an advanced security technologies developer, has changed its name to Fortem, the company announced. Fortem is the Latin root for “fortitude” and “fortune.”

Founded in 2005, the company has developed 3D software for Google, Sony and Adobe. Additionally, Fortem provides large-scale integrated security solutions for the police, military and mass transit sectors.

“Feeling Software has built a strong reputation within the 3D software consulting services over the past seven years,” Fortem CEO Christian Laforte says. “We want to ensure that our image and name stays current with our business, Fortem’s ownership, staff, products and services have not changed; we simply want our name to reflect the company’s evolution and growth.”

The company has also unveiled a new company Web site and logo. The Web site provides an overview of Fortem’s product offerings, including the Omnipresence 3D. The software solution unifies and automates an organization’s third-party security equipment and data, while presenting the most relevant information in a distinctly intuitive, 3D user interface, according to the company.
