Genetec to Distribute HID’s Fargo Brand of Printers Worldwide
Genetec, a worldwide supplier of IP video surveillance, access control and license plate recognition (LPR) solutions, has joined forces with HID Global to offer its full line of Fargo brand card printing solutions for Genetec’s IP access control solution called Synergis.
Genetec, a longtime OEM development partner of HID Global, will now offer the full line of card printers and associated supplies from the HID Fargo brand. This new offering balances Genetec’s current product lineup, including HID’s full line of EdgeTMand VertXTM network access control solutions, cards and readers.
“Genetec’s offering is appealing because it focuses on the latest technologies for IP-based access control and video surveillance security,” says Eric Widlitz, managing director, Americas, HID Global. “IT and security managers will see an appealing value proposition from the complimentary relationship between Fargo’s Ethernet-enabled printers and Genetec’s IP access control solution.”
Genetec, based in Montreal, Canada, employs more than 200 people internationally and has warehousing facilities in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“Our partnership with HID further enhances Genetec’s IP access control product offering, and specifically, Synergis’ integrated badge design functionality by supporting high-end printing capabilities,” says John Joyce, director of business development for Genetec’s Synergis IP Access Control Solution.
