Group Posing as ADT Security Reps Trying to Enter Virginia Mobile Homes; Police Investigating Claims

Residents say a white van has patrolled two neighborhoods and the scam artists have gone door to door trying to gain entry to the homes.

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — Residents here are growing concerned for their safety after multiple cases of a group of four trying to scam them into gaining access to their homes by posing as representatives of ADT Security.

WTVR reports the scam artists have targeted a pair of mobile home neighborhoods and deputies are investigating the claims.

According to residents, a white van containing four people circled the neighborhoods before going door to door to try to gain entry into the houses. Sometimes the van has been spotted at night.

“It makes the community feel unsafe,” said Dorothy Ramos, a resident of Green Acres Mobile Park, one of the neighborhoods that was targeted.

Ramos and other residents are keeping an eye out for the impostors and not taking any chances when it comes to protecting her family.

“Keep your kids closer and your doors and windows locked,” Ramos said.
