IDIS Makes Big U.S. Debut at ISC West

OEM supplier IDIS made its U.S. debut at ISC West with end-to-end, plug-and-play video surveillance solution that includes cameras, DVRS, NVRS, displays, hubs, switches, and video management systems.

IDIS just might be the company making the biggest noise at ISC West 2015 in Las Vegas as it debuts in the U.S. market on a grand scale at the show.

The company has a massive central booth, replete with bright white walls and carpet that give it an Apple store-like look, in the Sands Expo Center where it is showcasing its end-to-end video surveillance solutions for integrators that includes cameras, DVRS, NVRS, displays, hubs, switches, and video management systems (VMS).

Calling it a “total surveillance solution,” IDIS is banking on the idea that integrators will not want to continue to mix and match equipment from various manufacturers when they can potentially spec and install a system from one vendor that avoids any incompatibility problems. The Korean-based manufacturer has been an OEM supplier for various other manufacturers in the industry for decades before deciding to launch under its own brand name in the U.S. in January.

“Don’t call us newcomers,” advises Keith Drummond, senior director of sales. The company’s U.S. offices are based in Coppell, Texas near Fort Worth. The single end-to-end solution means faster configuration time for technicians as everything in the system automatically self identifies.

“We are true plug and play,” says Andrew Myung, president of IDIS America. The company maintains its OEM relationships and it also abides by the ONVIF standard so it can play agnostically with other manufacturers’ equipment. The Texas location will also host the company’s tech support team available via an 800 number.

With all the other surveillance equipment lines on the market, what is IDIS’s differentiator? Besides the ease of integration, the company’s direct relationships with overseas manufacturers means it can build product for a more affordable price. Currently, Myung says IDIS will sell exclusively to the dealer channel via sale reps. No distributors will carry the line and IDIS will not sell direct to end users.

In its booth at ISC West, the company ran through a series of presentations and hands-on demonstrations sharing its core benefits: the availability of a true end-to-end solution for every need and size, with highest-quality performance at a game changing low total cost of ownership.

“ISC West, in many ways, has been an ideal platform for the American launch of the total IDIS solution,” notes Drummond. The company’s offerings include its flagship solution, called DirectIP, a direct HD surveillance solution that is plug-and-play, single-source, and affordable using a range of HD cameras, network video recorders (NVR), and monitors-including 4K UHD and H.265 capability.

IDIS is also featuring its IDIS Solution Suite (ISS) that works with any combination of recording platforms and offers a responsive and cost-effective modular design, with available recording, backup, redundant recording, failover services, and video wall services modules, and a virtually identical GUI across all platforms.

Lastly, the IDIS DirectCX HDTVI offering delivers Full HD over BNC cabling, including DirectCX cameras and recorders.

“Together, these components-each designed, developed, and manufactured by IDIS-comprise a surveillance solution able to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding security landscape through flexible and cost-effective high-performance technology,” says Drummond.

Reacting to the crowds in the booth, Drummond notes, “We are very pleased to see visitors to the show share in the excitement we feel about the benefits IDIS brings to the marketplace: a true total solution for every need, highest quality at a lower total cost of ownership.”
