Milestone Upgrades Video Surveillance System at Safeco Field in Seattle

Safeco Field is home of Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners.

SEATTLE — Back in 2013, Safeco Field, the home of Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners, upgraded its video surveillance system to better monitor, protect and secure the more than two million fans who attend games each season, as well as the facility and physical assets within the property.

The first surveillance system was installed during the stadium’s inaugural season in 1999, using primarily coaxial cabling. Rather than go through the costly process of scaling out the analog system, the security team upgraded to an IP network video surveillance system that would increase operational efficiency and be easy to monitor by the security staff.
