RALEIGH, N.C. — Security integration firm Intelligent Access Systems (IAS) will receive a Steady Growth and Profitability Award from the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce for its continued success in the marketplace during the down economy. The accolade is part of the chamber’s 28th annual Pinnacle Business Awards program.
Held in conjunction with the chamber’s National Small Business Week, the Pinnacle Business Awards honors some of the most successful businesses in the Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh areas. The program recognizes entrepreneurial companies for their staying power, business growth, community involvement and innovation during the past three years. Winners will be honored during a special ceremony on May 22.
Based in Raleigh, N.C., IAS also operates offices in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Va., and Tampa, Fla. This is the second consecutive year the firm has been honored with a Steady Growth and Profitability Award.
Concentrating on three vertical markets in particular — critical infrastructure, healthcare and higher education — has really helped the company to thrive in a turbulent economy, IAS President Ron Oetjen tells SSI.
“Right now, our business strategy is focused like a laser beam on these markets,” he says. “Our sales and marketing team works hard to increase our brand awareness and sales activities in those sectors. We’ve got a good story to tell in each of those spaces, and we’re really excited about our future prospects.”
Oetjen has also given his team the same goal every year: Double-digit growth and double-digit earnings. So, how has the company been able to do this?
“The popularity of managed access, managed video and video verification services has certainly helped our sales and earnings,” Oetjen says. “We’re doing pretty well with these services now. We see a huge potential with these services in certain industries in the coming years.”
