PSA Security Network Founder Paul Marcus Dies at 103

Marcus is credited with being one of the founding fathers of the physical security system integration industry.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – The security industry is mourning the loss of Paul Marcus, a founding member of PSA Security Network, said to be the world’s largest electronic security cooperative. He was 103.

To honor Marcus’s passing, Bill Bozeman, president and CEO of PSA Security Network, penned the following letter, which was distributed Tuesday (Nov. 22) to PSA members and others throughout the industry.

It is with a heavy heart that today I announce the passing of industry icon and my friend, Paul Marcus. He was 103 years old.

Mr. Marcus was a founding member of PSA Security Network and considered to be one of the founding fathers in the physical security system integration industry as a whole. He served as a powerful guiding light to PSA Security Network during the beginning years of the company.

His dedication to PSA and the security industry was exemplified by his service as the Chairman of the Board for PSA Security Network for many years and his ongoing commitment to moving the industry forward. His legacy has been carried forth by his children, Jeff Marcus and Neal Marcus, who have served on many security industry committees, including Jeff following his father’s path as Chairman of the Board for PSA.

He was hands-down one of the most respected gentleman in the history of our industry and everyone remembered him for his kindness. His work paved a path forward for many people in our industry and PSA Security Network certainly would not be where we are today without his influence, intellect, and passion over the years.

Outside of his work in the security industry, his first love was the Jewish Community Center Ranch Camp of Denver. Donations may be made in his name by visiting www.jccdenver.org and clicking the donate link at the top of the page. The family requests that all donations be designated for the Ranch Camp when making a donation.

Mr. Marcus was also known for his great sense of humor and would be pleased for the world to know that, even at 103 years old, he still had hair. I am fortunate enough to have enjoyed his humor and his friendship for many years and I know many of you did as well.  He will be missed by many but his legacy no doubt lives on in the work we all do every day.

Sincerely,

Bill Bozeman, CPP
President & CEO
PSA Security Network
