Remote Surveillance System Catches Burglars Red-Handed

A New Mexico resident is crediting remote surveillance with capturing three individuals who broke into his home while he was on vacation.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A resident here is crediting his mobile video surveillance system with capturing three individuals who broke into his home while he was on vacation.

The man, whose name has not been released, was on vacation in Hawaii when he decided to check his home surveillance system using his cell phone at 3 p.m. on April 2. Upon checking the system, the homeowner spotted two men and a woman inside his home, prompting him to contact a relative in Las Cruces, who, in turn, called local authorities, KRWG.org reports.

Police responded to the home, but later determined that the intrusion occurred several days earlier and the incident was recorded by the homeowner’s video surveillance system.
