LANCASTER, Pa. — In an effort to provide hot-redundancy to its dealers, Security Partners has acquired its second central station — San Antonio-based Response Center USA — for an undisclosed amount.
The additional central station will provide the company the ability to share alarm traffic from two sites in different power grids and time zones, Security Partners President Michael Bodnar tells SSI.
“If there is a disaster situation with outages, whether it is weather-generated or provider-induced, we will be able to maintain 100% uptime,” he says. “With this, it adds a layer of protection for our dealers and their subscribers.”
The UL-Listed Response Center USA offers IP monitoring services via Alarmnet, Uplink and Alarm.com — services matched in Security Partners’ Pennsylvania facility — to an evenly split commercial, residential and PERS customer base. Additionally, Response Center USA, which has operations that cover the Southeast and Southwest regions, shares a similar business philosophy with Security Partners, among other attributes.
“The fact that all operators and supervisors on all shifts in our San Antonio center are bilingual is a real plus for our dealers and their customers,” Bodnar says.
Response Center USA dealers will also benefit from Security Partners’ Advanced Services Division, which offers custom designed monitoring programs to help dealers increase recurring monthly revenue (RMR). The division focuses on bringing new technologies in the areas of managed video, managed access control and advanced personal safety services to the market.
Response Center USA will continue to operate under its name and will keep its Texas-based operations. Security Partners’ Pennsylvania-based monitoring center is currently undergoing a phone system and automation platform upgrade. Once that’s completed, the firm will convert Response Center USA onto the same automation software, phone systems and alarm processing receivers so that the central stations will have 100% connectivity and real-time monitoring from both locations.
“We hope to have all that completed by the end of the year,” Bodnar says. “We’ve got work to do; we’ve got our sleeves rolled up and we’re tackling the critical tasks required to fully integrate our operations.”
