Security Cameras Help Police Apprehend Home Intruders
Home surveillance systems have helped police in Franklin, N.J., and Redding, Calif., arrest individuals suspected of home burglaries.
FRANKLIN, N.J. and REDDING, Calif. – Video surveillance footage has helped police capture home intruders in Franklin, N.J. and Redding, Calif.
A man suspected of robbing two homes in Franklin Park, N.J., was arrested after he was allegedly caught on a home surveillance system in the second incident, NJ.com reports.

On Feb. 10, 53-year-old Edward Frostztega broke into a home and stole a black wallet containing several credit cards. The man used the cards at various locations in New Jersey, and racked up bills totaling roughly $4,200.
As police investigated the case, Frosztega broke into another home where he lifted several items worth approximately $2,200.
This home, however, had a video surveillance camera, which captured Frosztega roaming throughout the residence.
Police later arrested Frosztega in the city of Bayonne. He was indicted in two on charges of burglary, credit card theft, theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Meanwhile, video surveillance footage led the Redding Police Department to arrest a man who allegedly broke into a family’s home.
The incident occurred on July 1 around 4 a.m., when a man broke into the Quintana family’s home and took items out of their garage, KRCRtv.com reports.
The suspect, identified as Shawn Allen Williams, made multiple trips to the family’s garage and was able to take a 47-inch TV and a wedding dress.
Homeowner Anthony Quintana confronted the suspect during the incident, and the two got into a brawl, but Williams was able to escape.
However, the family’s home surveillance system captured everything.
Although the Quintanas gave the suspect’s description to police officers, surveillance video provided better images of William, so the family posted his picture to the Redding Crime Facebook page.
A clerk at a nearby market recognized Williams from the images posted on Facebook and contacted the Quintana family.
The family quickly ran over to the market and helped the clerk make a citizen’s arrest.
Williams was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for residential burglary.
