DAYTON, Ohio — Shiver Security Systems, based here since 1971, is relocating its headquarters to Springboro, Ohio, and constructing a $3 million facility.

Shiver Security Systems provides integrated security solutions, access control, video surveillance and fire protection for about 6,000 customers in southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The company plans to move 35 of its 50 employees to its new 12,500-square-foot facility, Shiver Security President Chip Shiver Jr., told the Dayton Business Journal

“Our plan is definitely to expand, we’ve outgrown our space here in Dayton,” Shiver said of the company’s existing headquarters.

Shiver will maintain a second location in Mason, Ohio, which will serve as its sales and service center, but the new Springboro headquarters building will house its central station where it monitors security alerts, the newspaper reports. Shiver hopes to be operational in the new building within a year.

Springboro Planning Commission will vote this week to approve the building, said Chris Pozzutto, assistant city manager for Springboro, told the Dayton Business Journal.

Shiver Security plans to use the move as a chance to grow market share in southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky, Shiver said.

“In our industry, you grow one customer at a time, and we’re going to keep focusing on doing that in Southwest Ohio,” he said.
