SIAC Honors Walters With 2014 William Moody Award

Ron Walters, director for the Security Industry Alarm Coalition, has been honored with the William N. Moody Award for his dedication to alarm management issues.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) named alarm industry veteran Ron Walters as the 2014 William N. Moody Award recipient at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX).

Established in 2004, the William N. Moody Award recognizes individuals who are dedicated to alarm management issues.

Walters, who currently serves as SIAC’s director, has been involved in life safety and security since 1968. He has broad law enforcement experience as both an officer and a detective garnering numerous awards including the Bronze Star of Valor.

As a member of SIAC for more than 16 years, Walters works with local alarm companies and local law enforcement to develop effective alarm reduction initiatives and ordinances.

The former president and CEO of Secure America is also an affiliate of the Electronic Security Association. In this role, Walters monitors and reviews industry legislation at the state and local level for all 50 states.

Walters accepted his accolade during the ESX Industry IceBreaker Luncheon, a Security Sales & Integration-sponsored event. The award presentation took place alongside the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) and the CSAA Five Diamond Marketing MARVEL Awards.
