Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley CSS) has added another Sonitrol franchise to its operation with the acquisition of Sonitrol of Allentown, located in Allentown, Pa. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Stanley CSS announced earlier this month it had purchased Leesburg, Va.-based Sonitrol of the Tri-State.
First launched in 1979, Sonitrol of Allentown has been owned and operated by John and Carmen Steele since 1983. The sale includes mostly commercial accounts, including retail, restaurant, industrial, financial, service and education customers.
Stanley CSS has purchased several independent Sonitrol franchises since acquiring Sonitrol Corp., a leading provider of audio verified electronic security systems, in 2008. The Allentown franchise purchase will allow Stanley CSS to increase its market share in eastern Pennsylvania, says Tony Byerly, president and COO, Stanley CSS.
“The acquisition of the Sonitrol of Allentown franchise is a natural fit for us as a provider of Sonitrol products and services, with over 52,000 Sonitrol customers nationwide,” Byerly says.
Sonitrol of Allentown customers will be serviced by the existing Stanley CSS office located in Langhorne, Pa.
