MIAMI — Swire Hotels was in need of a helping hand to move its technology system to its new hotel, ‘EAST, Miami.’ They turned to Miami-based Unified Technologies to develop the core infrastructure to support the building’s IT demands.

The hotel’s network requirements included multiple Cisco Data Centers, LAN Switching, information storage and low voltage power systems, according to a press release. Swire Hotels went with Unified Technologies in part to support the local economy.

“We know there are numerous choices for the services that Unified Technologies provide, but it’s the utmost importance for us to support the economies in which we build,” said Mihai Bote CHTP, director of information technology at Swire Hotels. “By working with Unified Technologies, we’re confident we will have the necessary backend technology to run our systems and that we are in good hands to receive top-level customer service wherever it’s needed.”

Technology necessary to handle the needs of the hotel project alone require a state-of-the-art fully redundant backbone to support converged networks and services such as VOIP, high-end centralized audio-video, complex integrated servers, computers, video-surveillance, RFID and BLE access control, mobile POS, intelligent elevators with access synchronization, integrated mobile app, 4K Samsung Smart TV platform for guest rooms and meeting spaces including state of the art video-walls, and ultra-reliable extreme-high-speed beacon ready Wi-Fi.

“EAST, Miami is equipped with the top technology available,” said Gerardo Bassett, VP of advanced technologies at Unified Technologies. “To support this, we have provided them with the foundation necessary to ensure all elements which use the systems are able to do so with the greatest speed and reliability possible.”

Unified Technologies also identified the equipment needed to complete the system and connected Swire Hotels to the proper vendors to help fulfill their requests.
