Each November, Sleep Out: Executive Edition unites business leaders from a number of different industries in support of homeless youth in America. About 15 cities across the United States, including thousands of executives and leaders from across the country, will participate in this year’s Sleep Out. My Alarm Center will be represented by Amy Kothari, president and CEO; Anastasia Bottos, COO and CSO; and Kelly Bond, senior vice president of business development.

“Covenant House makes such a difference in the individual lives that it touches, and it has touched so many lives throughout our country and the Philadelphia region,” says Kothari. “We are so incredibly honored to be able to contribute to this cause in a meaningful way.”

A report entitled “Homeless Youth in Philadelphia” by the nonprofit People’s Emergency Center in 2013 stated that as many as one in 20 young people in Philadelphia had experienced homelessness. The report found that the number of students who said they’ve been abandoned, kicked out or have run away more than doubled from 2009 to 2011.

“This event not only raises substantial funds for Covenant House, but it helps build awareness of the difficult situations far too many children in our communities face. I feel so fortunate to be a part of it,” says Bottos.

The participants in the Philadelphia chapter and the organization have raised more than $190,000 for Covenant House in support of their mission to provide shelter and meals for homeless youth in America.

“These kids truly found a savior in Covenant House, not just as a place to sleep, but as a true support system that is equipping them for life. Bringing continued awareness and giving these young people a face and a voice has become very important to me,” says Bond.
