Top 10 Surveillance Videos of the Week: Hero Stops Active Shooter at College

Other top videos include a young girl saved from drowning and a plane crash caught on camera.

The heartbreaking shootings at an Orlando nightclub may have some people thinking they are completely helpless in preventing this from happening again. This Seattle Pacific student showed that’s not the case.

Video surveillance emerged from a 2014 incident in which student Jon Meis charged an active shooter on campus, pepper sprayed him and then charges the shooter, ultimately jarring the shotgun loose and pinning the gunman to the floor.

The shooter, 27-year-old Aaron Ybarra, had already killed one and injured another before Meis stepped in to disarm the shooter and save a number of lives.

The heroic act leads off this week’s edition of the Surveillance Videos of the Week. Other videos include a young girl being saved by a stranger after nearly drowning and two people somehow surviving after a car crashed into them while sitting near the street.
