TrendNet Unveils Affordable 4MP Cameras, Switches, P/T/Z Dome

Torrance, Calif.-based TrendNet uses ISC West to showcase its newest video surveillance and networking offerings.

LAS VEGAS – TRENDnet wowed ISC West attendees with an array of new affordable products, including several new 4-megapixel (MP) surveillance cameras, new PoE+ AV Series switches, and a 3-megapixel motorized pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z) dome network camera.

4MP Cameras With HTML5
The new line of 4MP network surveillance cameras, with HTML5 support to eliminate the need for browser plug-ins, will each feature high-definition quality video. The HTML5 also allows users to view live video from browsers that do not support plug-ins, most smart TVs and mobile phone browsers.

“Video clarity is a vital aspect of a surveillance solution because it assists to identify and quickly react to potential risks and threats,” says Evan Davis, senior manager of solutions engineering at TRENDnet. “The ability to access camera footage is also important, and the upcoming HTML5 support conveniently allows users to access live camera feeds from various devices.”

The 4MP network cameras include the indoor/outdoor 4MP PoE day/night network camera, model TV-IP314PI, and the indoor/outdoor 4MP PoE dome day/night network camera, model TV-IP315PI. Later this year, TRENDnet plans to add two more cameras (TV-IP344PI and TV-IP345PI), which will each feature a varifocal lens that allows the camera to auto-focus when zooming, and these cameras will also include audio support.

TRENDnet’s TV-IP314PI and TV-IP315PI offer PoE support, a wide operating temperature range and an IP66 weather rated housing. Dynamic IR optimizes night visibility, and the cameras both feature night vision in complete darkness up to 100 feet (30 meters). The company offers complimentary pro-grade camera management software, and free mobile apps. The TV-IP314PI and the TV-IP315PI will be available in late May/early June, each with an MSRP of $204.99. HTML5 support will become available in June through a firmware update. The TV-IP344PI and the TV-IP345PI will be available in June/July.

PoE Switches
Meanwhile the Torrance, Calif.-based company also unveiled its new PoE+ AV Series Switch line designed with no cables in the front. Features include front-facing LEDs that convey PoE power total, total PoE power remaining, and PoE power consumption per port. Rear panel ports improve cable management, and provide easier accessibility to other A/V equipment.

“TRENDnet’s AV series switches were specifically designed for integration with high-power PoE AV applications,” says Davis. “A/V system integration often requires much more power than your average PoE switch can supply, and the typical switch design, with ports in the front, isn’t suitable for most AV equipment racks.”

The switches are well suited for applications including restaurants and bars with several TVs and monitors, large homes with a multi-room A/V setup, and as part of a surveillance solution with an NVR. The new line features multiple models to fit varying needs, including an entry level model for basic A/V setups as well as models equipped for long distance fiber optic networking.

TRENDnet’s fanless 16-Port 10/100 Mbps PoE+ AV Switch, model TPE-1016L, is an entry-level model featuring 16 Ethernet PoE+ ports with a 250-watt total power budget. The company also offers a higher performing model with the 16-Port Gigabit PoE+ AV Switch, model TPE-3016L.

For long distance fiber optics networking, TRENDnet currently offers two models. First, the 26-Port 10/100 Mbps PoE+ AV Switch (TPE-1026L), which features 24 fast Ethernet PoE+ ports, two shared SFP slots, and a 430-watt total power budget. Second, the 26-Port Gigabit PoE+ AV Switch (TPE-3026L) features fiber optic networking at gigabit speeds.

The switches are available worldwide through major retailers and authorized TRENDnet partners. The MSRP for TPE-1016L is $484.99, while the MSRP for TPE-1026L is $614.99. The MSRP for TPE-3016L is $564.99. The MSRP for TPE-3026L is $739.99.

P/T/Z Dome Camera
Lastly, TRENDnet debuted its new 3MP motorized p/t/z dome network camera, model TV-IP420P. The camera’s motorized lens can be remotely operated to widen the viewing area that a fixed-position camera cannot provide. Users can select a user-defined 3D zoom area in the Web interface to view more detailed live video.

“TRENDnet’s motorized pan, tilt, and optical zoom capabilities allow users to scan the environment to quickly respond to active safety threats,” notes Davis. “The motorized p/t/z function makes a big difference when it comes to obtaining clear footage with greater detail to help identify suspicious activity and individuals.”

The TV-IP420P camera features digital wide dynamic range image balancing for better video quality in low-light environments. The TV-IP420P’s compact design provides flexible installation options for both indoor and outdoor use. It operates in extreme temperatures, and the housing maintains both an IP66 outdoor weather rating and IK10 protection rating. TRENDnet provides complimentary pro-grade software to manage up to 32 TRENDnet cameras, and free mobile apps to support easy remote live viewing.

The camera will be available in July, with an MSRP of $489.99. For a quick look at these new release check out this image gallery.
