Tyco Security Products Joins Board of Directors of IoT Advocacy Group

As a board member of The Thread Group, Tyco will help foster adoption of Internet of Things concept for the home.

SAN RAMON, Calif. – Tyco Security Products has joined the board of directors of the Thread Group, an alliance that advocates the adoption of a new IP-based, low-power wireless mesh networking protocol designed specifically for the residential market.

Also joining Tyco on the group’s board of directors is Somfy, a provider of home control products. The Thread Group, with more than 80 member companies and nine board members, works to foster widespread adoption of connected devices in the home, as well as the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) concept.
