SAN ANTONIO —United Central Control (UCC), based here, has acquired the wholesale monitored accounts of Red Hawk Monitoring LLC, formerly Counterforce USA and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Hawk Fire & Security.
Houston-based Red Hawk Fire and Security will continue providing security and fire/life-safety products and services, including system monitoring, for commercial customers in the retail, financial services, education, industrial office/warehouse and healthcare industries.
“This transaction is another step in Red Hawk’s growth trajectory as we continue to execute a focused strategy to be the preferred choice in systems design, installation, monitoring and long term service for our core business customers,” says Dean Seavers, president and CEO of Red Hawk.
Red Hawk’s Central Monitoring Station General Manager Efrain Saenz says it made sense for the company to sell the monitored accounts in order to focus solely on building Red Hawk’s core business.
“We are putting our wholesale monitoring dealers in very capable hands with the team at UCC. Their reputation for excellent service is well known throughout the industry. Because of their commitment to customer service, we all felt like UCC was the best possible buyer,” Saenz says.
The transaction will add approximately 149 new alarm dealers and just over 20,000 accounts to UCC’s portfolio. UCC President Teresa Gonzalez says the acquisition increased the company’s monitored account base by roughly 9%.
“The majority of the business is right in our backyard in Houston, and will integrate nicely with our existing operations in San Antonio,” Gonzalez says. “In addition, when we convert the Houston accounts, they will be on UCC’s ASAP to the PSAP program. Now that we are on the SGS Stages platform, the stage is set for UCC to provide a new set of tools and features to these dealers.”
With the acquisition, UCC hit a new milestone by surpassing 800 dealer customers across the United States, says UCC CEO Don Munford. “It wasn’t long ago that we were excited about hitting 100 dealer customers. Hitting 800 is major accomplishment, and gives me great pride in our team for always delivering excellent service which is the hallmark of the company.”
The deal for the monitored accounts marks UCC’s first acquisition in the company’s history. Gonzalez says there may be more deal-making to come in the future as the company looks to expand its redundancy capabilities out of state.
“As a national company, we continue to look for other acquisition opportunities around the country that may be a good fit for UCC,” she says. “Along with these new dealer relationships, we are also expanding the group of professionals at TeamUCC who share in our ideals of providing exceptional service.”
