SANTA ANA, Calif. — Universal Protection Security Systems has added more than 2,000 commercial customers to its account base with the acquisition of City-Wide Electronic Systems.
The deal will enhance UPSS’ systems integration and fire alarm capabilities, according to a press release.
“Adding City-Wide into the Universal team is a great complement to our company,” Steve Jones, CEO of Universal Services of America, says. “Our growth in the area of security systems integration has increasing importance to our clients as part of their total security solutions. The acquisition strengthens our offering as a key player in this market.”
Started in 1966, the family-owned City-Wide Electronic Systems provides security monitoring, alarm services and automation solutions to clients in San Diego and has a small presence in Santa Clara, Calif.
UPSS provides security solutions, consultations and investigations to a number of markets, including education, health care, government, petrochemical, retail and more. The firm is a division of Universal Services of America, which also includes Universal Building Maintenance and Universal Fire/Life Safety Services.
