Vivint Sales Rep Accused of Verbally Attacking Pregnant Woman

A sales representative for Vivint has been accused of verbally abusing a pregnant Canadian woman outside her home during a sales call.

CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada – A Vivint sales representative has been accused of verbally abusing a pregnant woman when trying to sell a security system.

The pregnant woman was returning home from a walk with her 17-month son when she discovered the salesperson waiting on her steps, CBC News reports.

When the woman asked what the sales rep was doing at her home, the man, who did not identify himself, started aggressively lecturing about leaving her wallet and keys on the front step.

The lecture then led to a verbal altercation between the woman and the salesperson, who allegedly told the homeowner that she was hormonal because she was pregnant.

Additionally, the Vivint representative stated that now he knew where she lived, and he knew nothing about her, so there was nothing really she could do about it, according to CBC News.

A spokesperson for Vivint said the company has since apologized to the woman, and that the salesperson is no longer employed with the company.

Residents in the area believe Vivint employees are told to use aggressive types of tactics as a sales gimmick, to make people feel like they need a security system.

Vivint maintains that the majority of its sales calls run smoothly. The firm says that it will address any complaints about aggressive sales representatives directly.
