Vivint Smart Home Hosts Ribbon-Cutting for New Innovation Campus

Located on the Utah State University Innovation Campus, the new facility is part of a strategic effort to expand Vivint’s talent base in Utah.

PROVO, Utah — Vivint Smart Home hosted a ribbon-cutting this week to celebrate the opening of a new campus in Logan, Utah.

Located on the Utah State University Innovation Campus, the new facility is part of a strategic effort to expand the company’s talent base in Utah. The new Vivint campus is aimed at attracting and developing talent in sales, strategic business development, entrepreneurship, customer service and product research and development, according to a news release.

“As the leading smart home services provider, we are constantly pursuing opportunities for growth and innovation,” says Alex Dunn, president, Vivint Smart Home. “We look forward to tapping into the strong business and engineering talent of the Utah State University community and contributing to Utah’s growth as a tech hub.”

The 43,000-square-foot building will house up to 400 employees and includes a demo home equipped with a Vivint smart home system, a full-size basketball court, fitness center and six training rooms, including a technical training room and a hands-on product training room.

“We are very pleased to provide space for Vivint Smart Home on the USU Innovation Campus,” says Noelle Cockett, Utah State University president. “The center will afford employment opportunities for people in Cache Valley, including USU students. Also, we anticipate USU research and outreach faculty engaging with Vivint R&D personnel in areas of common interest.”

Dunn told the Utah Statesman at Tuesday’s ribbon-cutting that he anticipates the company will partner with several colleges and departments at the university, including the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and the Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education program.

The company also plans to work with USU’s Center for Persons with Disabilities to create safer, more accessible home environments for those with disabilities, Dunn said.
