Xentry Systems Expands Offerings With Acree Daily Integrated Systems Purchase

Xentry Systems Integration extends reach in health-care technologies and managed services; aims to become a super-regional player.

MIAMISBURG, Ohio – Xentry Systems Integration, a division of Matrix Systems, has acquired Acree Daily Integrated Systems, expanding Xentry’s footprint in the Greater Ohio area.

Launched by Matrix Systems more than 35 years ago, Xentry Systems Integration designs, based here, integrates and installs open platform IP video surveillance systems, access control, security alarms, remote monitoring services and wireless technologies. Earlier this year, Matrix Systems decided to split its Xentry business from its Frontier operations, which develops an access control platform.

Xentry partners with more than 300 existing Frontier system customers in the Great Lakes and southern Florida regions. When deciding to split the two entities, Matrix’s goal was to expand Xentry to deliver a broader and more comprehensive range of security integration services to end users. However, the firm came across a hurdle in its quest to accomplish its objective, Matrix Systems CEO Holly Tsourides tells SSI.

“Xentry has had a strong business servicing customers with Frontier hardware and software,” she explains. “But what we were missing was the capability to service products outside the Frontier/Matrix portfolio.”

Enter Acree Daily, a Columbus, Ohio-based firm that Xentry was familiar with because the two firms shared several clients, Tsourides says. Acree Daily has been operating for more than three decades and provides its clients with turnkey systems including security, access control and fire alarm.

The company installs security technologies from AMAG Technology, Ascom Nurse Call and Edwards Fire & Security, allowing Xentry to extend its reach in health-care technologies and managed services.

“Acree Daily had the type of technology portfolio we were looking for,” Tsourides explains. “After our first conversation, it became very clear we had complementary businesses. They had a reputation for great customer service and a talented employee base that understands the unique needs of customers in the Ohio area.”

Acree Daily will conduct business under the Xentry brand effective immediately. As part of the deal, Xentry will add more than 40 trained technicians and a service fleet of 30 vans. Acree Daily CEO Dan Bland will also continue with the company as regional president of the greater Ohio region.

“Today’s competitive marketplace requires both scale and density to maintain high levels of customer service,” Bland says. “Acree Daily customers and employees will now enjoy the benefits a growing company affords.”

The latest acquisition is just one of many things to expect from Xentry in the coming months, as the organization aims to grow into a large super-regional integrator, Tsourides says.

“Our vision has always been to build this big,” she explains. “We’ve invested in building the infrastructure to support our growth plans. We have significant business goals ahead of us and anticipate Acree Daily is the first of several key acquisitions Xentry will complete in the years ahead.”
