Icebreaker Luncheon Hails Public/Private Partnership
This year SSI will again sponsor the ESX Industry IceBreaker Luncheon, which is inspired by the pursuit to nurture continued public/private partnership.
Held June 24, the event will feature a keynote address by H. “Butch” Browning Jr., who serves as the Louisiana State Fire Marshal. He was appointed to the position in 2008 by Gov. Bobby Jindal. Browning is noted for his wealth of knowledge and experience in firefighting, fire training, response and emergency preparedness.
The luncheon is also home to the presentation of the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award. The program annually recognizes an installing or monitoring company that follows established industry practices and partners with law enforcement to achieve the highest quality in police dispatch requests. Launched in 2005, the PDQ Award is sponsored by SSI, Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) and the Installation Quality (IQ) Certification Program.
The stacked agenda continues with CSAA and SSI presenting the annual CSAA Five Diamond Marketing Marvel Award. Each year the program honors a central station that uses its CSAA Five Diamond status in creative ways to gain a competitive edge in the marketplace. An in-depth report of this year’s PDQ and Marvel winners and runners-up will be featured in upcoming issues of SSI. SIAC will also bestow its annual William N. Moody Award to an industry volunteer who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication in maximizing false dispatch reduction across North America.
Rounding out the luncheon, ESA will award recipients of its youth scholarship program, which provides $10,000 to a first-place winner, $5,000 for second place, $3,500 for third and $1,500 for fourth.
