Honeywell to Offer FIPS 201-Compliant Contactless Smart Card Readers

Honeywell will partner with Integrated Engineering to offer new contactless smart card readers. The new OmniAssure™ readers are compliant with the Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201 (FIPS 201). Honeywell said the OmniAssure readers combine compliance with the convenience of using a patent-pending flash-on-card design that allows the reader’s flash firmware to be easily updated without removing the readers from the wall.

S2 Security and EasyLobby Combine Security Products

S2 Security Corp. and EasyLobby Inc. of Needham, Mass., have partnered to provide integrated access control with visitor management capabilities. The combination makes available EasyLobby’s Secure Visitor Management system along with S2’s Netbox, which is an IP-based physical access security platform. A combination of EasyLobby’s visitor management solution and S2 Security’s access platform allows clients to grant access to authorized visitors and employees as needed. They can also track visitors throughout their facility and determine the duration of access authorization, rendering cards inoperable according to schedule as needed.

Tri-Ed Entertains Clients at Pierce Arrow Museum

More than 100 clients of Tri-Ed’s Buffalo, N.Y., branch were treated to an evening of special activities recently at the Pierce Arrow Museum. Tri-Ed President and CEO Steve Roth was on hand to greet and formally thank those who attended for their loyalty and patronage. In addition, more than 15 manufacturers that support Tri-Ed’s operation also attended the event.

ADI, Only One Remote Inc. Form New Partnership

ADI and Online One Remote Inc. of Atlanta have partnered to offer professional, custom-configured remote controls for Pronto remotes. This includes the TSU9600, TSU7500 and TSU3500.

The new partnership will feature an activity-based, simple-to-use interface that can be professionally customized to include control over television and music sources in the home. According to ADI, graphics can be cropped to fit the screen. Several difficult color combinations of buttons and custom symbology are also provided.

HSM Electronic Makes Acquisition

HSM Electronic Protection Services Inc. announces the acquisition of the security alarm operations of Intruder Detection Systems (IDS) located in Fairview, New Jersey. The sale includes commercial and residential accounts being serviced in the northern New Jersey/New York City market areas. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
