Publication Honors SIA’s Don Erickson for Strong Leadership
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — CEO Update magazine has recognized Security Industry Association (SIA) CEO Don Erickson as a top executive for his role in growing the association’s membership and its lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill.
Erickson served as director of government relations for SIA from 2006 to 2011 prior to being appointed CEO. He is credited for introducing many new initiatives, including the launch of SIA Technology Insights, a new journal for technology end-users, and the Fiscal Year Informer, a publication dedicated to analysis of the federal budget process. Under Erickson’s leadership, SIA also launched a new Webcast series on IT issues, which helped further the association’s brand.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by CEO Update, particularly given that I’ve been in my job for less than two years,” Erickson says. “It’s been a critical time for the security industry, especially with regard to providing quality education for the next generation of security leaders, setting direction for the industry through standards activities and finding ways to strengthen the whole industry through collaboration with other organizations.”
