The editors of SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION fanned out across the show floor at ISC West to locate new products and technology, which we'll be writing about over the coming months.

What follows is a limited sampling of what we saw with more to come at a later date.

As ISC West closes another year, here are a few new products you'll see in 2010:

Altronix HubWayEX Active UTP Transceiver Hubs
Altronix introduced the HubWayEX Active UTP transceiver hubs that delivers exceptional video signal transmission for up to a mile, according to the company. The new 16- and 32-port units allow for the transmission of groups of four video signals over CAT5 cable with features that include automatic picture and gain control with video polarity compensation. A single-port unit is also available, as well as models that provide integral isolated camera power.

Arecont Vision Compact JPEG Megapixel Cameras
Arecont Vision released a new series of compact JPEG cameras in 1.3, 2, 3 and 5 megapixel formats. Equipped with on camera motion detection with 64 zone capability, the megapixel cameras provide custom programmable resolution, brightness, saturation, gamma, sharpness and tint, according to the company. In addition to color and day/night models, all Arecont Vision compact JPEG cameras feature Moonlight mode, an extended exposure and noise-canceling feature.

DVTel Latitude Network Video Management System, version 6.0.2
DVTel released version 6.0.2 of its video management platform that supports more than 300 different edge devices from a variety of manufacturers. The software is an open standards, network-based platform.

Honeywell NetAXS-123 Access Control System
Honeywell’s NetAXS-123 access control system, a one-, two- or three-door system, features a flexible, Web-based design that allows multiple users to manage the system from any location, according to the company. The embedded Web server gives users full control to monitor and view live events in real time, while allowing users to manually control access areas such as doors and card readers. NetAXS-123 has power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, which can tap into existing infrastructure and wiring, according to Honeywell.

Samsung W5 Camera Series
Samsung Techwin America presents the W5 analog camera series that incorporates the company’s fifth-generation W5 chipset and advanced three dimensional noise reduction technology. The series includes the SCD-2080 high-resolution dome camera, SCP-2120 high-speed pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z) mini-dome, SCB-9050/9051 thermal imaging camera, the SCO-2120R high-resolution waterproof IR camera, and the SCD-2010/2030 fixed dome cameras. The series provides 600 TV lines of resolution and ultra-low light levels, according to the company.

Sony Electronics HD Network Cameras
Sony's 10 new HD cameras are grouped into the E, X and V Series. To achieve higher picture quality, the cameras use the View-DR and EXMOR sensors. View-DR technology incorporates Wide-D technology with Visibility Enhancer. Sony Exmor CMOS sensors capture HD images in low-light environments. Many of the models incorporate in-camera analytics. The new cameras are available in a variety of form factors, including minidome, fixed/box and several with a low-profile bullet shape. Most models are also available in weatherproof and vandal-proof versions for high traffic, outdoor installations.

System Sensor Remote Test InnovairFlex Duct Smoke Detectors
System Sensor has introduced remote-testing to its line of InnovairFlex smoke detectors. The photoelectric detector (2251BR) enables updated DNR(W) duct smoke detectors to be tested remotely when used in conjunction with RTS151 or RTS151KEY remote test stations. This eliminates the need for the DCOIL or external 24-volt power to duct smoke installations, thereby reducing the additional first cost and installation labor associated with the DCOIL and pulling external power.
