HID Global's North Haven, Conn., manufacturing facility has been awarded the 2009 Shingo Prize Silver Medallion, recognizing the company's success in executing the broad application of lean manufacturing principles.

This is the fourth consecutive year HID Global has been recognized as part of the Shingo Prize business program. The North Haven facility previously received the 2008 bronze medallion, plus the 2007 Connecticut gold Shingo Prize for excellence in manufacturing, and the 2006 Connecticut silver Shingo for world class leadership and culture.

"Very few companies achieve the Shingo Silver Medallion, and with this marking their fourth consecutive award as part of the Shingo Prize business program, HID Global has proven themselves as a leader in operational excellence, having challenged traditional paradigms to face today's demands of a competitive global economy," says Bob Miller, Shingo Prize executive director.

The Shingo prize criteria provides companies with a blueprint for attaining superior operational excellence by focusing on such areas as customer satisfaction and profitability, quality, cost and delivery, leadership and more.

"HID Global is dedicated to customer satisfaction excellence and we are proud of our employees' dedication to continuous improvement," says Jason Bohrer, senior vice president, HID Global operations. "The Shingo Silver Medallion reinforces our commitment to providing customers with the highest quality trusted solutions - on time, every time - through our relentless pursuit of world-class practices that ensures customer value is built into everything we do."
