DALLAS — Access control and security systems provider Linear LLC and electronic video surveillance and access control equipment manufacturer Aigis Mechtronics Inc. plan to merge during the first quarter of 2011.
As part of the consolidation, Aigis Mechtronics' functions and products, including monitors, cameras and entry turnstiles will be integrated with those of Linear solutions.
"The integration of Aigis Mechtronics' products expands and complements our already robust presence in commercial security and access systems," says Todd Hokunson, vice president of sales, Linear Electronic Systems. "The new line will benefit our commercial security customers by making even more security products available from one source."
Linear representatives maintain that the Aigis' customers, will be unaffected by the consolidation, as the Aigis sales team will remain as the primary liaison for the product line. Technical and customer support functions, along with other business operations, will be combined at Linear's headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. and at its manufacturing facility in Casnovia, Mich.
