Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies of Carmel, Ind., releases the aptiQ multitechnology reader.
The Near Field Communications (NFC)-compliant readers support a variety of credentials including magnetic stripe, 125kHz proximity and the company’s aptiQ smart cards using either 13.56MHz MIFARE Classic or MIFARE DESFire EV1 technology.
The product can also read the card serial number (CSN) of most 13.56MHz smart credentials. All aptiQ readers are FIPS 201-1 compliant and have been approved by the U.S. government under HSPD12 as PIV transparent readers.
