Vector Acquires Cain Security; Ownership Sets Sites on Retirement

December 01, 2008 | Comments (0) | Post a comment

PITTSBURGH — Vector Security has acquired Washington, D.C.-based Cain Security and in doing so takes possession of about 4,000 high-end residential accounts. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The two companies share a related history. More than 25 years ago, Vector Security originated as one of the largest Philadelphia-based Westec dealers. The company would acquire another Westec dealer in Western Pennsylvania and make Pittsburgh its corporate services center. During that same period, Cain Security, also a Westec dealer, rose to occupy and serve a similar high-end residential space in the Washington, D.C., area.

Ron and Beth Cain, founders and operators of Cain Security, have decided to retire from the industry. As part of the acquisition arrangement, Vector Security will retain all of Cain Security’s employees and its office in Alexandria, Va.
