The Electronic Security Expo (ESX) has received approval to offer continuing education unit (CEU) credits from the New Jersey Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee for most of the seminars offered at the upcoming conference in Pittsburg.
According to New Jersey law, security integration and monitoring companies must complete 36 hours of CEU credits by August 31 in order to renew their state operating licenses. The expo, held June 15-17 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, will offer a combined maximum of 9.25 New Jersey CEU credits.
In addition, select ESX seminars and workshops also qualify for CEDIA and NTS educational credits. The amount of CEU credits each seminar carries will vary depending on topic and duration. For individual course details and CEU qualifications, click here.
Along with its nearly 50 educational seminars, the 2010 ESX will provide attendees the opportunity to peruse the latest technologies and services offered by 150 exhibitors. The show floor will include added emphasis on video surveillance and access control categories, along with a Consulting and Business Services pavilion highlighting organizations that offer business services to installing security contractors.
New for this year at ESX will be the presentation of the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award. Formerly announced at SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION’s SAMMY Awards, the 2009 PDQ Award will be bestowed during the ESX Industry IceBreaker Luncheon on June 15.
Organized by the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) and SSI, the honor recognizes alarm installing and monitoring businesses for establishing practices that help prevent false dispatches.
The winning alarm company will be recognized in a hometown ceremony along with a local law enforcement representative and will receive $1,000 courtesy of Honeywell during the award ceremony at ESX.
Additionally, SSI will host an exhibit booth during ESX. Do stop by for a visit!
