EXTON, Pa. -- The Protection Bureau of Exton, Pa. has awarded its 2010 Education Fund Scholarships, which are provided to children of current company employees.
The sixth annual awards program was created by company owners Keith and Mary Ladd to benefit students who enroll in formal post-high school education programs. Each year, the company provides $1,000 scholarships to help pay for tuition and school books.
"This project was one that was close to Keith's heart," says Mary Ladd. "I know this is what he would be very happy to know we've been able to continue it."
A panel of three independent judges received the unopened applications and made the decision with no input from the company other than to verify eligibility of the applicant. For 2010, six awards were distributed to students attending colleges and universities.
Founded in 1975, the family owned company provides security card access, video surveillance, central station monitoring and fire/life-safety solutions.
