CHICAGO — Protection One announced this week the appointments of two former ADT Security Services veterans to its management team. Rich Hewitt will serve as commercial sales director, responsible for overseeing and growing commercial sales companywide, and Marty Hale has been named director of national account operations.
During a 20-year career at ADT, Hewitt served in several capacities, including area manager responsible for sales, service, installation and administration; national account sales manager; and, most recently, regional director of national accounts.
Along with its national accounts division, Protection One's commercial operation includes a core commercial business with about 200 sales reps located in field offices throughout the United States. Hewitt tells SSI the company is preparing to expand its commercial sales force in a "logical progression" in areas of the nation as marketplace opportunities occur.
Among his duties, Hewitt will oversee all commercial sales reps in the field offices.
"I can't tell you how impressed I've been with the people at Protection One, their enthusiasm and the way they take care of customers," he says. "They are going to make my job much easier than I expected."
Hale, whose career spans more than 25 years, began at ADT as a service technician before rising through the company ranks. He most recently served as director of national installation and service.
In a prepared statement, Protection One CEO Tim Whall said the company is "designing a unique approach to national accounts by creating a truly unified account management environment."
The Dallas-based national accounts team led by Hale will include planning, order entry, billing and collections, and monitoring.
"I'm eager to play my role in Protection One's vision of a unified national account organization," says Hale. "This approach is unparalleled in the industry, and I look forward to joining the experienced and passionate team at Protection One. I have no doubt we will take national account service to a new level."
